I think if you saw your own mark again that I'd be like winning the lottery seeing there are what... a quadzillion pennies out there....

I thought I wasted a lot of time sorting... :O

So, you mean you mark all coins you look at in circulation like that?

I find Kennedy halves while roll searching and "Lombardi" is written on them w/ black marker. How much time that must take.

Maybe the banks in your local area are just recycling coins amongst themselves.

Nah, I have a bag from my bank (from the sorter) that has "back to the fed. reserve" on it.

I go through about 15-20k halves a month and sharpe marks are very common on them.... but pennies?

The last group of cents that I went through had marker on them, but someone forgot to pull the copper ones out.

I have found Nickels, pennies, and halves in my little town that has permanent marker on the reverse(only) in certain rolls...
