Don't care for the color, but looks vf to me.

I agree, should make VF-20. There don't seem to be too many 1917 coins in middle circulated grades. Seems they are all either MS (and mostly with full head!) or else worn to the point the dates are gone.

not a professional but looks like it couldve been harshly cleaned at some point

Looks like F-12 to me. Fabric over right leg is blended, and from shoulder to right hand is worn down.

VF-20 with a fairly significant nick on the lower left leg... Good strong representative Type 1 though.
