I just got this in my email from APMEX and circled the part that really made me laugh. Thought some of you might enjoy this.

You had an acronym in the file name that the forum software rejects automagically. I fixed the file name on the server and your post.

Now, what is a group of platypii called?

And don't say: 'A group of platypii!"

The 10th one is thinking ... "Why the heck did they put a platypus on a platinum coin!?"

A group of platypus is a platyplot.

And the tenth one was busy stinging someone. They're poisonous, you know - in Australia, animals either eat your crops or poison you. Natural selection in action. Aussies are hardcore people, and they've already eradicated all the boring animals.

bobbi-

platypuses or platypi are both correct.

onejinx-

is also correct, there is no collective word

Nice try, guy. Even gewgil doesn't recognize that word.

A baby platypus is a puggle.

There is no gender name distinction.

the #2 fun fact: I can see why they thought it was a hoax when they were found because it looks like they had extra parts left over and instead of throwing them away they made the platypus

I've never let the fact that the word doesn't exist inhibit my use of it before. Why start now?

Very strange, the whole egg-laying-mammal thing. If I could lay an egg I bet someone would put me on a platinum coin.
