Poll Question
I know many of us roll search, or roll hunt, or whatever you want to call it.
And we don't often find a jackpot.
Or if we do, what is it like?

WANTED: HAVE you ever found these coins ROLL SEARCHING ONLY?
Only rolls purchased from bank, not ebay or dealers.
If you have found something I didn't list, please mention!

Pictures are awesome!

P.S. If you haven't ever found anything listed, please don't vote!

I really don't expect many votes, but here goes!

I've found an Indian Head cent, and a Liberty nickel in bank rolls before, but nothing older than that.

I know a few people here have found various Barber coinage in rolls, and I don't think you'll more than a couple people who have found anything older than that. The chances are ridiculously low, and several times moreso when it comes to gold.

Also, I think you might find a large cent is a bit too large to fit in a quarter roll.

EDIT: One more issue is that when it comes to old old American coins, the sizes have not been uniform throughout the years. Shield nickels and Flying Eagle cents differ slightly in thickness and diameter to their more modern counterparts, which means they get rejected from the machine wrapped rolls and coin counters. If I'm not mistaken, Bust coinage is slightly larger than the current size as well.

The best thing I have ever found roll searching is a 1911 Barber dime. That dime was well worn, but it is still in my 7070.

I found a 1908-D Barber dime in a roll last year. Oldest coin I've found, though definitely not the most valuable.
