When I look at the close up you took, I can see a small, round-looking spot close to the rim. Is this what you are referring to as a possibility for the dot?

If so, it is way too low on the coin to be an actual 1936 dot penny The 1936 dot has its dot located where the main area of black corrosion appears in your pics.
