When I was there a few years ago, they still rotate street cars by hand, just like in the movie.

Yes, the coins looked to be quarters to me. I just feasted on this movie as I have been to San Francisco on several occasions and I have never grown tired of it!

They looked like quarters to me as well, but whatever they are I wouldn't mind having a few bags of them !
