I went to the local upscale coin shop yesterday to look through their bargain bin. They had lots of silver Washingtons priced between $10-$15. Example: 1939-P for $11 and I would guess the condition was AU-50. Is that a normal price considering the price of silver or did someone not update the bargain bin prices? I'm thinking I need to make a return trip!

Those prices make sense. Melt value is below $7 on silver Washingtons. 1939-P is a common date, and book is below $10 according to Numismedia.

On the other hand - one of my regular stores doesn't update their prices until you ask to look in the box - at which point they mention prices will be adjusted to spot value.

I purchase a half dozen War Nickels for $1.50 each from a bin at my favorite antique store
about 3 weeks ago when silver was close to $50.
Of course now I didn't do so good.

Many dealers purposely put a few rather nice or expensive coins in their junk, bargain, etc. type bins. The reason is obvious. As you already stated, you want to run back and do some more looking. Your hooked.
