From what I have seen, the 3-ring binders are actually the cheapest way to go. Thanks for posting this...have to think about how I am storing mine.

I purchased the Cowen 2x2s and archival pages from wizardcoinsupply, and used a couple of 3-ring binders that I had purchased from Walmart earlier. Was the cheapest way to go.

So what your saying is, I shouldn't have placed those nickels in the archival safe Littleton folder?

I'd love to upgrade everything to 3-ring binders and 2x2 setups, but I have two problems: (1) I've already invested $3.49 in each folder and (2) I'd have no place to store them... I guess if I want my coins to last long and (hopefully) make a return investment in 60 years, it'd be best to upgrade. Slowly but surely, I guess.

My coins spent five years in folders before being moved to albums. They survived. Just keep them in a stable environment (low humidity and stable temperature). You might even want to put your folders into large Ziploc type bags for added protection.

Ziploc bags, absolutely. Put your folders in there, press out the air & seal and store in a cool, dry place not affected by heat or humidity.
