Hello,
I found these in my newly acquired 6 Gal. water jug, full of pennies, Wheats, Canadians, and BU's, from a penny saver who has been saving them since the early 1980's. I'm now sorting coppers and checking for errors.

comments are helpful

All of these are normal coins. The 1968 is Machine Doubling. The 1956 has a die chip, which is very common. The 1998 is damaged, as is the 1965.

Hello Coppercents,
Thanks for responding. I like your site, great reference. I will help it in the near future.

Just a question about the 1968 between the you and S in "trust" is another S very faint. That's not from doubling, Right?

Also the 1956 date has a faint but visable, second date to the west of each number 195. So did they shift over, not repress?

Thanks for the information. Glad you are here.

I see what you are referring to but it is not an actual S. The human eye tends to pick out perceived patterns in random noise, the cloud you see in the sky may look like an elephant but it is not really an actual elephant.

It is Die Deterioration, not actual doubling. The chips around the 9 and 6 are also indicators of Die Deterioration.
