I picked let it go, and I would be willing to. But I would probably leave negative feedback for not being informed that one of the coins was holed. As a matter of fact, a similar thing happened to me and I sent an email and said something to the effect, that, I didn't appreciate not being told a coin had a hole in it. He sent me a message back saying that I could return for a refund, but I just left a negative instead. I think this is an acceptable course to take. Just because I'm offered a refund doesn't make up for the time that I spent in getting the coins are driving back and forth to the post office.

In other words, the seller made a good-faith effort to make it right with you, and you refused and Negged him anyways. Regardless of a seller's deception, this is the kind of thing that gets one put onto Blocked-Bidder lists.

Dang Herman please never bid on one of my auctions. Mistakes do happen and most of us serious ebayers are fully aware that accidents do happen. Last month I sold 500 silver dimes but somehow 3 clad dimes were mixed in according to the buyer. I think he was lying but I gave him a part. refund anyway, negative ebay feedbacks will hurt your bottom line at the end of the year. Now, if the seller is being a jerk and will not respond by all means leave a negative.

Normally, I would probably let it slide as it really makes little difference in silver value. However, because of this- Quote: All are original, and what is pictured is the exact lot. I would complain because a hole in a coin is definitely not "original" and there are no holed coins pictured- that means at least one of the coins has been swapped or it is an entirely different lot of silver. Since your transaction is not yet completed(seller satisfied, customer satisfied), it is premature to worry about feedback. FB should be based on how the seller handles the situation. A good seller would offer either a full refund or send out an extra dime free of charge. Of course, a good seller would also mention a holed cull in a silver lot...

Okay maybe I am seeing a hole just because I am looking for one, and I may be completely wrong on this. But doesn't the left most coin on the bottom row of the original picture look like the holed coin in question?

But doesn't the left most coin on the bottom row of the original picture look like the holed coin in question? I looked seerals time for many minutes and I never noticed it! I think because of the flash and the white background you cannot see the whole. I am goign to let it go because I think I see the hole now. Seller should have said there was a hole since he did state the glue portion. Thanks all!

Glad you handled it without a big fuss..it's just bullion anyway. On the other hand, I'd like to know hermanwilliams ebay id...don't want any buyers like that.

Now I see- the white background visible through the hole sort of blends in with the excessively bright silver. The seller should have mentioned it but at least coins are not being swapped.

Seller should have said there was a hole Yes this is definitely one of those times when the seller could have been more responsible about their listing and mentioned the holed coin in description. The way the picture is, no one would have thought there was a holed coin in the mix. We all started looking for the hole only after we were told one of them could have a hole. One can surely argue for and against the seller in this type of thing. But if there are no consequences for this, then we will keep seeing poor descriptions, and even poorer pictures on ebay. I'd say give a positive feedback, but at least cut a few stars off the item description DSR.

I have no problem being blocked from a bidder who doesn't describe the items that he offers on ebay. Keeps me from accidentally bidding on that persons items again later.

Would it greatly matter that one of the dimes in a lot of junk 90% silver lot had a hole in it? Probably not, unless the hole took out a large chink of the coin affecting its total metal %. You knew you were not buying collectible condition coins, but paying strictly for the metal content, a $100 is spot on for $3.55 FV. Yes, the seller could have been more descriptive, but he's selling the silver only, the condition of the coins is almost beside the point. You also could have asked before you pulled the trigger, but the seller does state that some coins have glue residue, which in my mind means damaged and uncollectible. This was simply a bullion value listing for bullion buyers only, not for coin collectors, and to expect otherwise is to do yourself and the seller a disservice.
