The Cheerios Sacagawea was essentially a pattern coin and it has a slighty different design(ribbed tail feathers vs smooth) from Sacagaweas minted for commerce. It was recently discovered that not all of the Sackies used in the Cheerios promotion were of the pattern type, many of them could very well have been normal coins. Because of that, potential population figures have been thrown out the window and it is really a guess at this point as to how many actually exist. Only about a dozen have been discovered and as far as I know, none have been reported to have been found in circulation. I would imagine that there are still some in the Cheerios packaging sitting at the bottom of someone's junk drawer were the coin was placed 11 years ago after a box of empty cereal. If you were lucky enough to find the proverbial needle in a hay field(a stack is much too small for this task), then it would be worth around $5000.
