This is my 6th Kennedy half struck from a doubled die. Less common (apparently) than the 1974-D DDO which I've found 3 of in the last 2 weeks. The edge searchers miss all this fun stuff

I really only started tracking in November and I've searched 2418 rolls since then. I've found 1 71D DDO, 1 72 DDO, 4 74D DDOs since then but I only really started looking hard for them since February or so.

Only a very small percentage of coins are variety coins. That is why they are rare. If they were common as dirt, then they would be worth dirt. Case in point the 1972 master die doubled cent dies. They are found on all three mints and a large percentage of the cents made that year.

Congrats!

Real nice 72 P DDO!

Always on the look out for this one while roll searching.

I've found 4 so far. :)
