A friend of mine told me him and his wife had a nice coin collection past down to them, and they gave me a list, and I told them I would see what I can find out about the value of the collection. Any help is greatly appreciated, and it is a large list, so this will be a bit tedious. I figured it to be a learning experience for myself, and who knows they may want to sell, and if one of you all were interested, I think it would be in the range of possibility to set something up. Sorry no pictures, so I know without seeing coin and condition, it is near impossible to give a dead accurate estimate, but a ball park idea will be good enough for now. I notice no pre 64 90% silver right away which makes me think not much value, but what do I know, as it would only take one key date coin to be a diamond in the rough so to speak....

just a quick glance:
the 1964 Kennedy is 90% silver
the 1966 Kennedy is 40% silver
some of the Bicentennial Kennedy may be silver
and the 2003 Kennedy are NIFC and may have value

Thanks Fuzzy, I was thinking the all the post 64 silver was 40%, but just 66 eh....

Looks like one of those family heirlooms better held onto and passed down the line, and perhaps it will be worth more in time....

Nothing stands out the 1964 and 1966 are the only ones of any value, and if your nickel is an 1881, that's a Shield nickel worth 250 dollars and up. There was only a little over 60 thousand produced.

Thanks Jeffat NFC, I am sure they will pleased to hear that may be a $250 dollar nickel, and some of the halfs may be silver and have some value other than the 64 an 66....
