This is another I acquired recently. I am interested in confirmation, grade, and opinion on value. There is a rim gouge at 9 oclock. Does this take away 60-75% of value? Thank you in advance.

ouch!

Out of the millions of 1939s out there why did it have to happen to this one?

Sorry but I'm not sure how to call the value. I am sure someone else here will know what to say.

I can see a doubling of the "O", but can't make out much more than that due to the large amount of wear. Too bad about that dent. I can't help on guessing a value either, but I'm sure someone would want this as a filler. Did you buy this or find it roll searching?

This one is in my Cherrypicker's guide: MONTICELLO and FIVE CENTS are doubled.
Shame about the damage.

Bummer about the ding - I have that coin on my radar as well.

I guess the big question is:
If you sent that to a TPG, would it come back with a details/damaged label or in a bodybag?
If so, there's your value answer.

It's hard to see the doubling well on your pictures but I've looked at a bunch of these and I'm pretty sure yours is real. I'm bad at grading but I'd guess yours to be in the F-VF range (not counting the ding). Red Book says it's worth $75 in VF. I have no idea what the ding does to the value.
