Nothing super special, but I went to a garage sale and bought some 1909-1941 blue books for lincoln cents for $3 a piece. I didn't look to see if they had any key dates, they were all sight unseen. There wasn't anything special in any of them, a few of the semi-keys, a 1915s in rough shape.

Then I get to the last one, open up to the third page and there are a bunch of Indian Head pennies! Sweet. All are in very good or better condition, a few have some PMD which would knock them down a bit. Some also have some rainbow toning and look like they were maybe cleaned a while back.

Either way,

Congrats on your find! And yeah definitely still good deals out there. Several months ago, I went into a pawn shop. They happen to have 13 loose Indian heads, common dates, low grades. Asked the owner how much they were each. He looks at them for a moment and says 10 cents each! Needless to say I took all 13 and left a happy camper.

Congrats. It's nice to find hidden treasures that someone overlooked or uninformed sellers that don't know the real value of what they've got. It helps make up for the times you get taken advantage of.

I don't know if any of these people are "uninformed" so much as they don't care. Of course, I'm generalizing here, but a lot of people understand that old coins hold value to some people. They don't really care what value they hold because they want a small amount of cash in exchange for not having clutter anymore. Sure, they are uninformed when they sell a hundred dollar coin for $3, but most of the time I really think they are more ambivalent than dumb.
