She's a little rough, worn and has been around but
still alive :)
VG8 or 10 ? Motto is actually visible in hand if that helps.
Images are scans.
Thanks.

It is rough but I would take that anyday for my type set. Nice coin!

Well hold on, because as soon as the grade is settled here
she will be up for auction shortly.

I agree with VG-8 detail. The market price will be reduced due to the obverse dig, rim bruise, and overall roughness.

Thanks, I kind of figured that with the marks etc.
FMV is around 285-290. You think 250 would be fair ?
or more like 225 ?
I need to start selling some of my seated halfs and dollars.
Would like to see some people on here get a few if they can before I start going elsewhere. Some are higher end so the prices may be out of reach for most. Guess I can do an auction on ea. coin one at a time etc. Just wanted to start getting some input on a fair start price etc. I already sold
6 other coins (lower end) to a local dealer of mine and got
good prices as a few members mentioned. Just about at market
or better.
Rest in Peace

I sold a VF-30/35 detail coin for $225, but it went cheap. Probably $180 at most honestly (I could be wrong) because it looks pretty beat up.

Thanks. That makes sense. Same dealer I sold others to offered
150. I declined that offer. I now think 175-200 range should do it for this raw coin. 30 to 35% below market. Guess what is - Is :)

I can't go VG with looking at the shield, liberty and motto. Not enough detail for VG.
G would be my vote.

I think the rims, rev. shield and the actual in hand
visibility of the motto bumped it up past G6.

Would not really matter much price wise anyway even if a G6.
$265.00 @ G6 fmv. It's condition knocks that all down anyway.
Would still most likely fit in the 175 range.

The rims are VG.
To give it a VG, you want to see at least a few letters of LIBERTY. I've enlarged the scan and don't see them. I'm probibly wrong.
Reverse OK VG. Some horizontal lines and a nice rim.
OK VG

Busthalf

You are correct about Liberty. Looking closer a few letters
slightly discernable but due to the hits near them probably
not enough to make the 8 grade unless the fact that the rev.
motto which is all readable plus the overall 8 attributes present on the coin combined would have an overall effect on the net grade. If not then it is a 6, if so then a crazy 8 :) I am going to put it up on the auction forum and state it as G6/VG8 and come up with a fair start bid. Thanks again for all the help.
Rest in Peace

I wouldn't expect more than a g price with all the nicks.

Are those chopmarks on the shield?
