I don't know if I'm in the right forum
I found one of these while looking through my unidentified junk with my new 15X loupe
Can't get a photo it's so worn, but I searched here and found it's the same as this onehttp://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...PIC_ID=67036
Interesting find? or quite common?
Either way it's fun to finally identify something thats been sitting in the junk box for years

If it is extremely worn to the point you couldn't identify it or get a photo it might not be a Connecticut. The Nova Eborac, the later Vermont, and the British half pence both genuine, counterfeit, and the Machins Mills counterfeits all look similar. Especially in very low grade.

IF it's a bust-facing left Connecticut Copper, they're not SUPER common, but they're not incredibly uncommon.

There are TONS of varieties, and of the post-Colonial non-Federal issues, Connecticut Coppers seem to be the most abundant. That was my first one, I've since picked up a couple more. Send us a pic even if it is worn, let's see if we can figure it out! =)

There are 241 known varieties of the 1787 Connecticut coppers, with some being quite scarce to downright rare. We would need a picture of your coin to evaluate the Miller # and variety.

DBM, I've been able to identify mine as a Miller 33.4-q, or W-3415. Thanks for getting me to look it up again!

Alright alright, I know I'm terribly delinquent on this, but I've been able to to identify it as Miller 6.1-M, laughing head mailed bust facing left. This one is terrifically damaged by a hole at about 8:30 that produces a crack to the rim (2.5mm) and is reasonably porous and corroded. I'd grade it G4 details. =)

AND YES, I know YOU WANT PICS. Been a bit busy with Father's Day and all. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! ;)
