i was really pumped about the 1901 but when I saw that it had been cleaned.. I still couldnt pass it up. any idea what it would be worth cleaned?

If your grading is accurate you did very well. The 1898-S alone retails for over $200 in MS-60 according to Coin Prices and the 1896-O, 1892, and 1886-O all carry premiums over common dates in AU-50 and above. The 1901 is a key date in high grade but in Good it is priced like a common Morgan.

Please post photos when you can!

OK. here are the pics. as good and fair as I could get them...

i went to the coin shop though after and the guy kinda bummed me out royally. said they were only worth spot and grades VF at best...=( please let me know if these would still be worth more than spot..also the 1901 has been polished.

i guess at this point I'm discouraged that my $220 investment isn't such an investment.. I mean if I were to sell id like to know I could get my money BACK

i almost feel like my pictures make them look too good..?

Certified 1898-S Morgans in grades from AU-50 to AU-55 have sold on Heritage recently for prices in the range of about $75 - $150. Your coin appears to easily make an AU-50 grade or better and doesn't cleaned to me. That one at least is worth "more than spot".

The 1896-O and 1892 coins grade at least EF-45. They may have suffered light cleaning but possibly not to the extent they would be called problem coins.

The 1886-O looks cleaned and has VF+ detail; that one and the 1901 are probably only worth baseline value for Morgans but still might sell for a slight premium given the big bucks collectors pay for these dates in high grades.

Your dealer undergraded the three better coins and tried to lowball you IMO.

Yeah, I'm no expert but just from looking at Photograde, I concur with Jaobler.

I think you did alright, man!
