http://completed.shop.ebay.com/i.ht...pg=50&_rdc=1Returns look like they regularly reach from 10% to 50% sometimes even close to 100%. Seems far more lucrative and easier than roll searching. Just order a box break it open to check the ends and then let the suckers snap it up. Edited by jarwulf 05/19/2011 04:21 am

I'm seeing $10 rolls selling for $9.99 plus $4.99 shipping. Unless he's stealing postage from his employer, the only one making money is ebaY/payenemy.

I agree with Fredd. I'm seeing plenty that ended at $9.99. When ebay and Paypal fees are considered, and shipping materials and such, even rolls sold for $12-$14 aren't making a killing by any means.

I don't see how people can look at this and wonder why the seller is selling. My question is why are the buyers buying?

Why everyone knows that in UNSEARCHED rolls, bags, boxes, etc. of coins a person may find a fortune. Only close to UNSEARCHED is my (wife, mother, father, etc.) died and left me all these. I no nothing about coins so selling them for .......

So thats around 11.50 (assuming 3 dollar ship) to break even). Maybe not much but is it any worse than rolls searching nowadays? Plus you can get lucky and hit a 15-17 more often than finding the dream silver hoard. One buck profit every 5 rolls is like pulling a 1964 every box.

Yeah I see what you're saying jarwulf. It just seems like alot of work for very little return once you factor in the time to pack up the rolls to ship them, getting them to the post office, etc. The margins are so little that one would probably be better off getting a part time job. Just my honest opinion....besides, I wouldnt have the will power to not open the rolls and look for myself. :)

$11.50 + $3 shipping = $14.50 to break even. That'd rarely happen. And then any time it is not occuring, you're losing money. I feel like the money lost would be greater than frequency with which it's over $14.50. People will take that $3 shipping into account when determining how high they are willing to go.

plus if you search a box and get no silver in 49 rolls, odds are that last one won't have silver. Just a quick thought if you could get 12 bucks on craigslist per roll, you might be able to make a little gas money for driving to the bank

Even the ones that sold for $9.99 had $5 shipping so they did better than break even.
More interesting (to me) is that there are a number of auctions for $500 dollars worth that sold for $600 (including shipping). Take out the actual shipping cost and the ebay/paypal fees and the seller makes about $20, that's almost worth it.

.... If you're not insuring it... Personally, I would never send a $500 item without insurance.

Hi, new member here and I just had to comment on this. I hope nobody in their right mind would buy these. I'm sure they are 100% unsearched rolls, but I'm also sure that they are 100% weighed as well. The sellers probably buys a bunch of rolls, weigh them and keep the ones that might have silver, then sell the rest.
