It looks very suspicious to me.
Sap can tell you with more certainty than I, but I believe it is a copy. It has a strange color (but that could just be the picture) and the lettering on the reverse looks off to me.

I don't really see anything wrong with it -- the style is OK - It does seem slightly porous but I'm 95% sure it's genuine

The coin appears fine to me it's a Denarius of Gordian III. Though you may want to wait and hear from the man with all the answers to be 100% sure.

I don't see anything wrong with it either. It's an antoninianus - the spiky headgear indicates the denomination. There are four examples on Wildwinds; scroll down to RIC 182. This is a very common coin type - the counterfeiters usually target more lucrative items, though there is one example in the FORVM fake database.

Good thing I don't work for a grading company! I stand corrected.

It's not really worth faking coins of Gordian 111, because the genuine ones are numerous enough. Most Roman coin collectors have at least one antoninianus of Gordian 111, and that is not surprising. It is possible to obtain a nice Gordian 111 silver coin for a very reasonable price.

It might not seem worth the effort of making a Gordian III fake to us but that doesn't mean that they don't make them. The more I study fakes and their production the more I realise that there are fakes of just about anything out there. I have seen several fake Gordian III Ants.

This coin looks OK to me from the images.

If it is worth faking a Soldier with Standards LRB it is certainly worthwhile faking a Gordian III.....

One of a whole bunch of recent struck fakes to come onto the market through premium uncleaned coins in the last couple of years!
