O.K. I will. First off, if a woman says that you are wrong about anything She is right, and You are wrong. Period. Now that you are enlightened I can be serious. Only comment would be is if that phenom. was on a type coin or Morgan dollar it would be quick to be called an overdate. but that most likely is not going to happen here. So

Not looking for a right or wrong answers. I didnt mean to call it an overdate of any sort. Most likely this is MD but never saw one this far off before so thats why I said enlighten me because it could be something else. Just basically looking for answers on why the 2nd 4 is so far off.

Interesting! Could it be some kind of doubled die/doubled master die?

Is the coin bent or dented at the bottom?

I think you will find it is a mark in the field right beside the 4. The mark is triangle shaped so it resembles the top of a 4. But it comes to a point and if you look closely at the style of the 4 in the date the top of the 4 is flat.

Yeah this coin is a bit confusing to me. Its got some mad die scratching where liberty is and plus some around the date. I think what happened in the long run they messed up the coin and tried to scratch it all off leaving only a little part of a 4 showing.

One other thing Scoob the coin not bent just took a picture through a little 4X circle while the rest of the magnifying glass is 2X.

The coin is environmentally damaged. What you are seeing as an errant 4 digit is just from the shape of the coating that kept that part of the coin from turning brown. It's a normal 1964 cent from all I can see - with some damage that would be considered cleaning.

I agree with you as far as environmental damage. The extra 4 or whatever it is is not flat its sticking out like a MD or a 1963 1DO-001. The reason I said a 1963 so you have an idea what I'm talking about as far as that goes.

This topic kind of died off. With the second 4 or whatever sticking up like an MD can anyone answer? I saw something about a 1994 with a second 4 way off. Would that fall into that category? Is it possible for an MD to be that far off? Could Acid make another number appear off the side without damaging the regular number? Coppercoins can you explain a little more about what you said. What you are seeing as an errant 4 digit is just from the shape of the coating that kept that part of the coin from turning brown.
