So I made the drive today, about 60 miles south to go visit the coin store. I'm not sure what I was after other than to just get out on a day off and perhaps just see what was selling and for how much. I ended up getting a couple mint sets I did not have but I also go The Official Red Book, Professional Edition.

I probably paid more than I would have online or something like that, but I was there so I went for it. I have to say that is an impressive book and I'm glad I picked it up. Lots of good information and the pictures regarding errors is well worth the price.

You hit the nail on the head by saying lots of good information. I love the Red Book for that but don't use it as a viable pricing source for coins.

Yeah, I kinda take the prices with a grain of salt in most cases since it can vary so much and can often be subjective. They had another, cheaper edition or version of the Red Book but it didnt have the information in it that this one did, particularly with regards to the errors and such. I'll have to go to the local book store and see if I can find any books that deals specifically with errors as I find that interesting. I especially like being able to educate myself on how to recognize them.
