I went to the coin show yesterday morning bright and early. I went a bit crazy but had good reason to because it's my birthday. I mentioned that to dealers at the show and they cut me a tiny break.

Question: Are Johnson Matthey Cert's with 5 oz or 10 oz bars hard to find? I have never seen any before.

1. 1 oz gold buffalo ($1550)
2. 5 gram Engelhard gold (with cert) ($240)
3. 2.5 gram gold pamp (with certs) ($120)
4. 10 oz & 5 oz Johnson Matthey Silver bar (with certificates!) (38 dollars per oz)
5. ATB - 2010 PCGS - Choice BU - 5 oz set (I haggled him down from $1600 to $1400 - I was DYING for this set)
6. 40 ASE's (diff years) ($770 per tube - or $38.50 per ASE)
7. 13 Maple Leafs (3 privy titanic) 10 are sealed from 1990 -all $38 dollars each
8. 10 oz Engelhard loaf - 36 bucks per oz
9. Breakfast Burrito @ Jack in the box - $1.99 plus tax
10. Too much fun - priceless.

A Jack in the Box Breakfast Burrito for only a Buck 99!?

But seriously, that was one nice haul you made right there. If you find you don't have enough room for storage send some on over to me and I'll hold it for ya

Thank you TS.

I had to go to Jack in the Box and order something because the coin show parking lady couldn't break a $100 bill (Kinda Annoyed). So I decide why not stroll this massive 250 dealer coin show on a full stomach.

If any of the 10,000+ banks mention they are not vacant with their safety deposit box, I'll ping you ASAP. :)

Man I wish I knew you were looking for a ATB set I would have traded you for it. I love the gold pieces and you paid a good price for everything, looks like a good haul.

Copymax can make you as many as you want.

You have to remember, when those bars had $20-50 worth of silver content, a COA was just another annoying piece of paper to keep track of. Does your bank (or anyone else) give you a COA with each $20 or $50 bill?

If you questioned that a $50 bill was counterfeit, would including a much-easier-to-fake COA change your mind?

COAs are almost always just a sales gimmick, just like wrapping bars of silver in plastic, so you can't get a correct weight, size or SpG on them. This is why you won't find COAs on 400 ounce gold bars or the Moaning Loser.

I have thought about that an agree Biggfredd. COA is just a piece of mind. How easy could one copy a COA, the guy from the movie "Catch me if you can" could have been faking those back in the 60's....

Great day at the show, congrats! It would have been fun to just tag along, watch you work the dealers. Did they give you a hand cart?

Not that I have seen. Both the J-M and Englehard silver and gold bars are widely bought, sold, and are easily recognized by anyone who buys / sells bullion bars. There have been some fakes out there, though; most likely from China. While a certificate of authenticity is a nice little add-on to have, I agree with Fred that it could be easily duplicated.

Thank you CC members for your responses. I really do appreciate them and I'm glad to know that I at least paid decent prices. The ATB set might have cost be a bit more (from a pure bullion perspective) but I was going to acquire it no matter what.

Biggfredd is 110% right. I agree these JM certs are certainly possible to reproduce anytime at your local Copy/Office Max etc. It looks too easily reproduceable. With or without the certs, I would have still bought them (especially the 5 oz).

I will say out of my entire purchase, I just look at this one Buffalo gold coin at least 2-3 times a day (until I get it out of my system)

Just staring at it, as it stares back at me...
