Spencer

I normally try to stay away from the sacred copper one cents
when expressing my grade opions. By the way, I want that coin
now Anyway, I seem to be in VF35 mode this week. Rev. is a tad better then the obv. But, the date, m.m. and vdb will most likely make it higher. I'll let the Xperters on copper
decide.

I agree the reverse is stronger. The obverse IMO is VF30.
VF35 overall. Nice coin.

Separated rim, all letters distinct, 90% full wheat ear lines. The obverse ear is worn and weak, the bow tie is visible but not distinct. Cheek and jaw are distinct but not sharp. Takes this example out of EF range.

Obverse shows ANA F-12 full grade, with a VF-20 reverse. I'd overall it at VF-20, a very nice example of the holy grail of Lincoln cents.

I'd go with VF-30 or possibly 35. I know it's nicer than the one that I have in my collection.

Very similar to mine, it's in an NGC VF-30 holder, that's where I grade this one. It needs to be in a slab. I can't tell if it's authentic from the photos.

IIRC, one of the diagnostics is that all three dots are strong.

why so low the hair? would just the hair exclude it from a 40 the wheat's are so impressive that I think grading up would be warranted.

grades are meant to give a general idea what a coin looks like for the benefit of someone who can't see it.

now that it's possible to show pretty exact pix of any coin, grades are pretty much unnecessary. What does the coin look like? It looks a lot like the pix.

I've seen worse get passed. It's not near the date, or extremely distracting.

I see it exactly as Indian1 and that crowd sees it. It's not quite EF but it's knocking at the door. That's a high VF, overall, and very plausibly a VF-35.
