I posted this link a few days back in another thread, 4 oz. silver round, plated in platinum. If one of you all bid or bought this forgive me, but come on man ! He had two more listed, and neither got bids. My point, am I the only human here on EARTH that searches every angle, or has the thought to check sellers other auctions? We are still here by the way on EARTH still spinnin, no zombies , no end of the world, just work as usual for most Monday, back to the grind stone baby! I think someone wise once sang...."The wheels in the sky keep on turnin , and I do not know where I will be tomorrow!" Even though I hope to be buying gold or silver where ever that may be, yeeeah! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...TRK:MEWAX:ITEdited by Silverhawk74 05/22/2011 02:01 am

Do I have to belt out Journey lyrics? I check out the other items for sale, if they have multiples and someone has bid on one, I take the next available. Try to make it a deal for everyone, ya know?

You would thin anyone laying out a few Franklins WOULD take the time/thought to check things out. But... If this was reality I think Washington DC would be a lot better place right now. Unfortunately the masses never show too much common sense or desire to put out some effort to make sure of a situation. I think this is also why the Chinese have decided they could sell a lot of fake coins to the US. After handling some of the recent ones, it is easy to see how fake they are. All you need is a little magnification. But I fear not everyone takes the time.

Well said all, and Funny Money I to will pass over an item one bids on if I can find another to bid on myself solo, via enough to go around. I think the bidding Vets do the same most cases, unless it is just a rare hard to get item, then all bets are off, every bidder for themselves, lol....

Last century, I found an Asian seller with a fake platinum bar on ebay. Someone else questioned it, and I showed that in order for it to be platinum, it would have to be hollow, but it was exactly right for silver. It even had a wooden presentation box with a brass plaque (a fake COA, in effect). Before it was said and done, even JM told ebay it was fake, and I was interviewed by the WSJ. If you want to read the story as it unwound, search deja for fake platinum bar ebay.

OK, I looked the listing over. It was properly listed as 999 silver, platinum "layered" (another term for plated). Washington Mint is legitimate, and it went for about the same as any similar silver piece. There may even be a few dollars of pt there, but you'd prolly need several to justify the assay. No different than gold-plated State Quarters, which would actually be a bigger waste of money @ $20 per.

Actually, the only misdescription that that it's a quarter troy pound, when in fact it's a third (buyer's benefit).
