Hey guys, Let me know what you think of this coin and maybe a value if you could. We all know I'm new to this but I had a auction guy look at this and he Grades Gem Uncirculated ms65 Rainbow Toned.A stunning example, Rainbow Toned, clean fields, virtually mark free. Stunning luster, vastly superior eye appeal and to top it all off a terrific variety. VAM 19, double die obverse, with wild doubled stars and date and most other features. the reverse also has wonderful doubled features.

Photos make it look nice and original but they are dark. See if you can take more photos and close ups of the VAM features.

from the pictures I can't put this coin nowhere near a MS-65 but better pictures would help with grading and also with VAM attribution that can raise the value a considerable amount. There are allot of 8TF VAM's that bring good money, but there are some that add no value at all but would need better pictures to let you know what you have

Well I'm too much of a noob to guess grade, I would just make a fool of myself :) But I will say that is a nice one! Awesome doubling!

Yeah, I think VAM-19 is the attribution here. Grade is a tough call from these images; I almost get the impression of a slightly-circulated coin based on hair detail. VAM-19 was the first use of that die, and examples tend to have sharp strikes.

Well, I'm not coming down firmly on any grade here. The surfaces certainly point towards at least a high-end 64 if it's Mint State, but the photos are a tad small to be conclusive. Keep in mind, MS65 is pretty rarefied atmosphere for this VAM, and a TPG would be hesitant to award the grade.

superdave, I've been reading so much about TPG on here and has me hesitant to try and send my in. Plus I don't know any local dealers and personally wouldn't trust any of them with it. And sorry for the photos just don't have the technology to make better photos.

It's all good, man.
Go register at Heritage Auctions (ha.com). It's free, and gives you access to their auction archives full of coin images at stupid resolution. They have records of a number of VAM-19 auctions up to MS65, and will give you a pretty good frame of reference to compare your coin to. That'll be a better grading aid than any opinion someone here could give you.

The photos are great sharpbfast. What camera are you using?
SuperDave great attribution.
First look at that coin and it looks like a bad counterfeit.
