Is there a big difference between the Whitman, Harris, and other folder makers?
Also ... what exactly is a Dansco? Saw someone mention it in a post.
Thanks KC

most here will recommend using albums, not folders. I recently converted my collection from whitman folders to Dansco albums. There has been talk of the glue from folders and them sticking to the coin reverse and/or edges due to this glue. With albums you are able to see both sides of a coin.

Dansco albums are a little pricey but worth it. You can see both sides of the coins without taking them out, eliminates handling them which is always good. I just purchased one for my Lincoln Cent collection, it includes proof issues up to 2016. I Highly recommend them. James K

I believe Dansco albums are the way to go. It's all I'll ever use again. You're able to see both sides of the coin. The acetate slides protect the coin from scratches, fingerprints, etc..."The first check you write is for the mortgage, the second is for the insurance." Sorry, just watched "Blindside" again ...anyway, If you're going to spend the money on the coins, spend the 25 bucks or so, and get a quality album to protect and display them. Just my thoughts.

a bit more about Dansco albums, they have one version including proofs, and one without.

I recommend Dansco albums as well; but any album (Dansco, Whitman, Littleton, Intercept Shield, etc.) is preferable to a folder. As to the differences between folder makers, I believe the differences are insignificant.

I make my own album. Just use cardboard flips with mylar and place them in pocket pages. That way you can arrange the coins any way you want to.
Dansco albums are cool though!

I do have some Dansco binders with 2x2 pocket pages that I use for the miscellaneous and dark side stuff.
