I'd like to know the benefits people see over using a Dansco album vs. 2X2's and plastic sheets in a 3-ring binder.

I can see where the 2X2-3_ring method takes up more space. I can also see where the Danscos look nice and are already labeled.

Anything else?

Also - I am assuming Danscos have cardboard in them. Is there a chance that this might retain some moisture and, over the years, harm the finish on coins?

I prefer the 2x2 storage method because I don't collect to finish albums and fill holes, I collect coins that I like.

I have used Dansco albums for several years. They are made of coin friendly materials, and have never had a coin tarnish or change while in the books.I have collections of all american coins minted by the US mint back to the early 1800's. The albums help me keep track of what I need, and what I am seeking. They are not cheap, but I love them

I like Danscos for sets that I'm actively working on, and leave the rest of my coins in 2x2s. They both have advantages and disadvantages.

I have been using Dansco albums for over 26 years now. Never a problem.

I also have a few Dansco albums that have pages for 2x2s. Their pages hold twelve coins instead of the typical 20 (given the difference in binder size). I use these for my miscellaneous and dark side coins.
