Hi All, After some advice, I'm looking at selling some gold coins to realise some gains, is there anywhere better than ebay to get the same amout of exposure, or somewhere that will give reasonable amounts? I'm very anti ebay at the moment especially with their fees and paypal charges. Thanks.

CCF may be able to sell your coins. On the menu at left, click Coin Consignment.

you could do craigslist but be careful and also local coin shows. Also once you get enough posts, sell it on here.

I would not sell any coin(s) worth over $150 on CL.

Do they have numismatic value or are they worth the weight of the gold? If the latter, a dealer might give you a decent price (doesn't hurt to ask). Quite often ebay minus fees is better than dealer prices for coins with numismatic value though.

Agree if you want spot + % there are a few local sites that are worth looking up. No good if you want numismatic premiums generally though. Horses for courses as they say.

Big ticket gold coins are probably best sold through a major auction. I have bought a few in this way, mainly Indian medieval and late Roman gold.

If all you are after is the gold price have a look at the Perth Mint site.
Updated daily with the lates prices.
If they are a collectable lot go with Sel's advice, You wil get a better exposure to REAL collectors
