I'm putting together a roll of Peace dollars, so I bought 4 on ebay for a hair over melt. These 2 I found interesting in several ways. The dark rich lustrous toning, and then what looks like several rectangular marks laid out in parallel on the reverses. What might these be from, counting machine of sorts? Anyways here they are.

No idea on the marks, but nice idea. I'm not much of an expert on Peace dollar grading, but I'd say they are higher grade AU (1st one 53, 2nd one 58?). Nice toning, and I like the roll building idea. I have a mixed Morgan and Peace dollar roll I'm building (slowly!)

Actually according to the Whitman book on Peace dollars, that Gold toning is the original color!
