I purchased this gold coin at the Long Beach show for melt(thanks to Delaner for pointing me to one of the better gold dealers). It is heavily circulated, but has a lovely original patina and is decidedly a "better" date even in very low grades. Going into the roll, though I think it's a real score at melt! Thoughts on grade?

F-15, with a significant scratch or cut from Liberty's nose to the rim. The 1844-O is about the most common New Orleans half eagle but still much scarcer than all those later San Francisco and Philadelphia dates. A very nice choice for the half eagle roll.
