Just added #3 to my collection

Still no date visible, but the best one I have so far.

Looks like the real deal to me, though it looks to grade as PO1, or maybe FR02 on a good day.

Yeah, still very worn, but shows a little more detail than the other 2

Dagnabbit!

Between Gormang, Nod2003 & Johnny "Countdown" there aren't any 1916 Standing Liberty quarters left in the wild!

(Any of guys please let me know if you're releasing any of them into the "woods" again? A trade perhaps?)

GRR! I know exactly where you found this one Gormang. You beat me this time. It certainly didn't go cheap though. BTW, congrats on your purchase

Oh Johnny, was wondering if you would be in this one.
It wasn't cheap and I probably paid too much.
I haven't looked through the rest closely enough yet,
but I don't think there is anything else in there.
They are making it harder, the pictures aren't as good
as they use to be.
Rest in Peace

I think you will be fine, it looks problem free and genuine up close which is the important thing. It gets crazy risky with the dime sized photos, never know what could happen. I think you're in good shape, send them in to ANACS already...;-)

Great find! I would have to say this may barely make FR2.

It is the first one that I think I have that is problem free, #1 has that streak across it that I'm not sure will get a details grade or not,
#2 has that scratch by the arm.

and if I'm lucky #4 is on it's way.

If it does end up being a 1916, I would have gotten it for under melt

It is hard to believe that there have been this many found in a relative recent time frame.
You really do have to wonder how many are still out there.

Being so worn, what stands out to say that it's a 1916? Obviously I don't know much about these....

There are I think 6 obverse differences between the 1916 and 1917 T1.

Johnny has a great picture showing the differences

but here is one article from ANACS
http://www.anacs.com/contentPages/S...e.aspx?ID=16

and another one from slqcoins

I guess with silver so high, I might as well check some junk bins at the dealers. I just cant see on the auctions with the pics not as big as they use to be and congrats on the recent finds

Looks like he's well on his way to putting together a grade set of 1916's, and he's getting the toughest grades first. LOL! Nice find.
