I just got an email from the US Mint stating that the 2011 Silver Eagle Proof will be shipping in 4 weeks and that the price is $59.95 based on the current market price of silver. I guess that's right around the premium-per-ounce that the Mint is charging for the ATB Silver Pucks. Anyone buying this? A strict limit of 100/household, mind you...

As I have a full set of ASE's except the 1995 w, I will pay the premium. I have purchased them from the mint since 1996 except, of course, for the missing 2009 they failed to produce.

I think you can order the 2009s from this company in China. They look a little weird and some of the words are misspelled, but you can get them. I have 10 of the on my refrigerator held up by magnets. Wait... maybe I messed up. Never mind.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

I'm in! I have been waiting for the release of this one. I got myself all signed up on the mint's website a few months ago just for this coin. It's going to be my birthday present to myself. Can't wait! I also noticed that the carpetbaggers on ebay are already "selling" these coins for $100.00.

Do these usually resell for a higher value in a few years?

And, silly me, I didn't realize there were bullion versions as well. Did they make the silver Eagles in high relief at any time?

One of my ambitions is to collect all of the Proof Silver Eagles in a Dansco Folder. I would keep the boxes and COA's. I already have a complete set of ungraded BU/UNC Silver Eagles, A Dansco book of ASE's, and a complete set of NGC Graded MS69 Complete Silver Eagles along with some extra "First Releases", "Anniversary Issues" and 7 of the 1996 NGC MS69 (Key date) stuck away. Didn't realize I had these many until I took an inventory a couple of weeks ago. About fell over.....

Yep, I just got my U.S. Mint email notification about them. I signed up for a subscription earlier this year, so I should be getting them annually now. We'll see...
