I may even have heard about this on ccf, but it bears repeating. << Staff Edit - Video Below >> (this is part II, part I is easy enough to find) Some interesting points I never heard before: - 90% of the silver dug before 1990 is now in landfills.
- Silver is running out, because it's mostly found near the surface. The deeper they dig, the more gold they find.
- There is five times as much gold above ground as there is silver.
- Almost anything gold is used for, something else will suit as a substitute.
- They're finding new uses for silver constantly, most of which won't recycle. For example, silver thread in fabric wicks perspiration away from the skin.
- In most uses, silver is a "must have", there is no substitute.
- Industrial quantites of silver will not be available after 2020.
- For these and other reasons, silver could readily reach $5,000 an ounce in ten years.

Great info. Even if silver doesn't hit $5000 per ounce It is a beautiful metal that will continue to be the base metal for some of the world's most beautiful coinage for as long as it is mined.

$5000 an ounce, that seems a bit ridiculous - are they thinking of oil, maybe?

Thanks for sharing this video.
I know that for most people, when they watch a video like this, they have to take it with a grain of salt. This is for obvious reasons, no one can know for sure what will happen.
But I'm starting to see a trend. A trend of different people, from different backgrounds, with different experiences, all doing their own research and coming to this similar conclusion.
There IS market manipulation currently with silver. There WILL be a shortage long term with in the next 10 years. There IS a growing deficit of supply Vs Demand.
Im not big on conspiracies, or bandwagon-ing, but to me we stand at a great potential opportunity. I doubt silver will ever hit $5000/oz (cept for when hyper inflation hits) but I do think that it could easily shoot past Gold. Perhaps not permanently but for long enough to reap some serious profit.
The other thing to is, If your smart about how you diversify and minimize your risk, the potential rewards are great. Even if silver bottoms out to $10/oz you haven't lost everything, you just took a hit. If its only 20% of your total savings you're still ok.
Honestly, even if you think this is all baloney and silver is gonna crash and bottom out and never recover, its still worth the gamble, imo to put away about 100oz. Just for the potential profit.
TL;DR - Silver is probably a good buy right now. Be smart, minimize your risk, but don't be the one that didn't at least buy a little bit before it goes up.

It may also cut down on glare, but the main reason is elsewhere. Those windshields are pink for the same reason some decorative glassware is, silver in the glass mix. The main reason (From Fords, years ago) is an ounce of silver flattened to windshield size with electric current attached. Unlike defroster fans or wires like in rear windows, it will melt frost instantly, and even inch thick ice in a matter of minutes, like a giant heating pad.

once again thank you biggfredd Nice thread and info. One slight correction maybe? I believe Other fibers do the wicking. The silver threads kill bacteria so clothes and gym socks don't stink major good use! very old sailors (didn't die ) from bad water .they would hang a silver coin in the water barrels on long voyages to keep it fresh. the biocidal action to this day is unknown but when or if they find out

Great find, the most interesting thing I have seen about silver in a while, thanks....
Wow 5 grand eh, that seems like a pipe dream for even me, lol....
I hope so, my 61 oz, would be worth a bit over 300,000 if that ever happens. Fredd, you mentioned all the platinum ever mined could fit easily inside a racquetball court. So my point there, why is platinum not up to 5 grand an oz. yet? I am guessing the overall industrial use for silver is so much higher, which would trigger it to excel beyond platinum....

I am gonna watch this video a couple times to absorb it all, you don't have part one by chance, very interesting?
He mentioned the famous tulips, something I had never heard of until joining here, and I have heard that story a good half dozen times, just shows how much stock we put into historical events, and human behavior. I myself would have simply said...."You know it is just as flower, it will die soon, think I will pass, lol"

I think one must consider the entire silver industrial market saying...."The heck with silver were out, we gotta find something else!" And humans will always find something else to use. May not be as good, may be something new that makes silver look obsolete, but surely they will consider something before they fork out 5 grand an oz..... Heck, even if the guy is 1/5th correct, a 1000 an oz. silver sure would put a smile on my face , esp if it happened an the rest of the civilized world did not collapse in the mist of it all....

Wow, talk in part one of "matters of national security" could bring the confiscation theorist out of the wood work.
