Even though the percent of copper cents seem to be going down at times, the last box I searched had one to several 1959 to 1968 (not all years) cents in almost every roll that looked like they were minted yesterday. Someone must have cashed in a load of AU cents. It made up for the only 10-20% copper count. I got the box from an alternative bank I do not frequent often as they want you to have an account. Maybe I need to open an account there!

I had the same type of thing happen with my bank boxes from the first week of June. I'm speculating that the recession is back on, or still going strong if people are bringing old change into the banks. That, and baby boomers retiring, moving to nursing homes, and hordes are cashed in. I found one roll that had 5 wheats in it, with copper counts at or exceeding 50%. I wanted to try different banks too, and have, but just plain luck, and getting as many boxes as you can handle is how you'll stumble onto the fun rolls.

I had to get change for my wife's restaurant the other day and the first roll of pennies that she opened was a bank roll of red 1964 cents. I think some people are digging deep for spending money.

I think the federal reserve and the bank are having to dig deep to get pennies with everyon hoarding like me
