I just can't believe that a company that big would not have all their i's dotted and their t's crossed. They basically have the right to print money through charging whatever mark-up that they deemed suitable. I guess if you're going to try to pull a fast one these current volumes due to metal- mania would create a lot of transactions that would be hard to trace. Maybe that's why a lot of these companies happily accept personal checks for expensive purchases (harder to trace than money orders). I know of at least two other large bullion dealers who use somewhat unusual payment policies. I notice that the ones that I'm aware of refuse to ship via USPS. Perhaps it avoids any mail fraud charges from the boys in DC, and other easily documented charges.

I guess that explains why the US Mint uses UPS to deliver pucks. USPS uses UPS to deliver priority mail boxes.

If nothing else, this is clear proof that the gubmint, at least in Canada, is serious about collecting tax on coin transactions.

When are the crooks gonna learn that they can't short change the gov on taxes, and stay in bus. As long as they get their cut, they seem to turn a blind eye to many types of illegal activities, even though that is of subject a bit, such as drug sells in California and other states now....
Capone, they couldn't dig up any dirt on him they could use in court, until Ness realized the guy had never paid one penny of tax in his entire existence....

I think USPS has a deal with FedUp for delivery of priority/express mail, but when you order the boxes from the USPS site, they are delivered by UPS.

Mine aren't Fred, Last shipment of them here my mailman backed right in the driveway and I helped him unload them.

Yeah, my United States Mint orders leave Indiana via FedEx and end up in my United States Post Office Box.

Priority mail not going to the same zone or an adjacent zone usually ends up on a FedEx plane.

We can be pretty sure that ALL governments are going to be VERY aggressive at collecting taxes... whether or not they are actually owed. Better, from their point of view, to err on the side of grabbing as much as they can.
