Went to one of the regular coin shows held at the local VFW halls. Found a few items, but all in all, kinda drab.

Bloated prices on everything. Only a few dealers still operating in our dimension.

The one dealer who got his arse beat finally had his black eyes heal up. He is back at his table instead of his daughter. I personally witnessed this guy anger 2 people on 2 different occasions with his shenanigans. Once I thought the police would need to be called. He has tried scamming me before.

Another dealer who just made my naughty list tried changing the price as I was handing him my money after we agreed on a price. Babling on about how the coin will be worth more when the price of silver goes back up, even though the price he was willing to accept 6 months ago was lower than our agreed price, it was still written on the 2x2...

Contrary to what those in the precious metals investment circle have been saying, there is no shortage of silver. It is not as abundant as it was before the huge price correction, but one can still find pretty much anything they want.

On the plus side, one of my favorite dealers who deals only in Canadian, had some Mercuries he got as part of a lot he bought. He sold me this bevy of argent beauty's for spot. A man can never have too many Winged Lady Liberties in his life...

I also picked up these Canadian large cents.

Paid 75¢ for the '09 and $1 for the '03.

Paid $2 for this PL set. I'm getting ready to expand my Canadian dollar coin set into the nickel series, plus I wanted the nickel and cent.

Picked up these silver proofs from my other favorite dealer for spot. Much rather have these than low grade grungy Washington quarters for spot.

And I also got this dollar for spot.

Another dealer had 2011 Libertads for $39 each. It was crowded around the table so I was going to circle around and come back and pick up a few. Not 10 minutes later every single one was gone.

Nice coins.

However, contrary to what you stated, there is in fact a shortage of silver. You must look at the bigger picture in regards to supply and demand. I'm sure if you did a little research you could find that out.

There is obviously going to be a lot of silver at coin shows, since a lot of coins are made out of silver. You have to be able to see the forrest through the trees.

I see that silver dollar at the bottom being sold for $20+ on ebay constantly. How much would the silver be worth in these coins?

Not sure what you mean by drab. You sure walked out with a bundle of nice coins. Looks like you really had a good time.

Without getting into a big discussion about the future of silver prices let me say this.....it's totally unreasonable to expect to sell a commodity today at next months price.

I have done my research. Long term, yes I absolutely agree, that is why I am buying as budget permits. 3 digit prices for silver would not surprise me at all. When investors start trying to exchange "paper" ETF silver for the real thing, and it's not there, that's when the fun will start.

Short term, nope, not for a while yet. I think some are just trying to justify price gouging.

Go to ebay and Craigslist. No shortage there. Some big dealers are on back order, but they are getting the product in.

Wait until silver hits $50 an ounce again. One will be tripping over the stuff again. The reason I sad "not as abundant", is because right up until the correction hit in the beginning of May, everybody was selling. There was silver everywhere, in every configuration and quantity imaginable. The short sighted dealers were buying like there was no tomorrow.

Now that overpaid silver is sitting in vaults in basements waiting for the price to go back up before it comes back on the market. I had 1 dealer flat out tell me so, and a few others imply the same. A couple more astute dealers stopped buying silver before the correction.

I'm not talking coins either. Bullion bars and rounds. 10 and 100 ounce bars everywhere.

There is .6 troy ounces in these coins. When I bought it the silver price was $36.20, giving it a melt, or bullion value of $21.75.

I did, but the show, and the last one I went too, had an atmosphere that was just, stale, for lack of a better word. This was the first time my buying was limited by availability of fair priced coins, and not by how much spending money I had.

I like the Canadian Large Cents, very attractive. The 1903 is the better grade of the two, but I like the 1909 better. I think it has better color and surfaces.
