I just found this recently and I had to use a very very strong magnet because of how small the anomaly is. I was able to get the penny to lift very slightly, but even though it was very slight it did still lift and that means the object is metal and not a die error. I dont know what to make of what it is so take a look. The coin is in a very nice mid to high MS RED condition also.
Copper isn't attracted to a magnet? The die received sone damage and all coins struck with that die will always have that raised area till the die is retired. It is a die dent/die gouge.
