*** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***if I opened these and separated them from their original packaging, would that make these more or less desirable and/or worth more/less?

I don't think you should open them.

I would leave them as they are.

Leave them alone, the rust is holding the car together packaging is most of the value.

Not sure, but it looks like private packaging though. The packaging does give interesting info, some people may like that. I don't know if that adds value or not.

It sets the coin aside from any other one like it not in the packaging. You know how those old men get at auctions. They think this is like finding a needle in the hay stack

I don't think it'll make a difference either way.

Old saying is to leave well enough alone. You have nothing to gain by opening them so don't.

I think those are just littelton packaging so I don't think it would add any value to the coins at all. I have some ASE's that have packaging around them just like that (with different inserts) and that is why I think the packaging came from the littleton coin company and it will probably say that somewhere on the insert. This packaging adds absolutely no value to the coin so if you would like to take them out, I say by all means do it because those packages are bulky and take allot of unneeded space when storing the coins. I took all the ASE's I had (I think about 15 of them) out of their littletonm holders also

As was mentioned, there is a bit of neat info there. Leaving them in is what I would do as well.

It may not add value, but I kind of like the packaging there.

The only way I'd pop them out is if one of the following two conditions needed meeting:
1. I was so low on storage space that this would get me some more. 2. I was going to put them in a display/album that would showcase them in a way that I liked better.
If neither were satisfied, then I'd keep them as is. Also, if you'd ever sell, I can see someone (who isn't as into the coin scene) maybe wanting to buy them more because they'd seem "more valid" (whatever that means) in a case than not in a case but that's about it.
