Wife and I went to a farm auction today. Several coins listed in the auction ad. CC Morgan dollars, wartime coin cents, Lincoln Cent sets, etc, etc.

Three GSA CC mint Morgans of 1882, 1883, and 1884 dates. Sold for $225 each. The 82 was nice. An MS64 coin. 83 and 84 were 62's at best. I passed.

Wartime coin cents were highly polished coins from WW2 era. Not one coin worth over melt. Set sold for $75.

One type set that included Barber, Walkers, Mercury, Washington, Morgan, & Peace. Again, ALL were cleaned and polished. About $6 face value silver - sold for 250. I passed.

Lincoln set #1 - date set - 1909 to 1964. Believe the 1909 was a S mint, but did not pull the coin out of the folder to look for those other three initials. This Lincoln was rooted out of the ground. LOTS of porosity. Don't think it would grade or even come back as genuine. The rest of the Lincolns were a max of VF grade. Set sold for $75. I passed.

Oh well....it was interesting to see people were actually interested in bidding.

I rather dislike those auctions since there are so many ringers in the audience. Those are people paid by the place to continue the bidding by bidding too. If they win, the same items just go up for auction at another place.

Nebraska.

I DO believe the firearms were bid up falsely. Unfortunate, but true.
