today I got a 1913s and a 1926s in good to fill the holes in a Whitman book I've been working on for the past two years. I only have the 1909 svdb, 1909s, 1910s, 1911s, 1912s, 1914d & s, 1915s, 1924d and 1931s to go. Do you think any of the above are available in "good"? That's what I've been buying and I'd take a pic of the folder but my skills in that regard are lacking.

Excellent ... appears you are nearing the finish line indeed. I would say all of your needed coins are indeed available in 'Good' ... best wishes for your eventual set completion and the fun hunting for them. David

Nice! Where did you pick up your additions?
And, if you don't mind, about how much have you spent putting that collection together? No biggie if you'd rather not divulge.

All can be obtained in Good, although the 31s might as well be bought in a higher grade. Most of the 31's cents are fine or better it seems, and the price jumps are small. Nice work on THE great American collection

I've been buying them through a member of this forum that has an ecrater site. NLP coins is who that is and he has some good deals and nice coins.. The others I've been buying from coast to coast out of Columbia MD.
I haven't been keeping a running log of cost(duh) but I think I'm probably near 200-300 American.
Thanks very much for the replies. I have another green book that I bought at the coinclub for $8.00 with about 20 coins in it. It's a 1958 Whitman and I've just been adding to it as I go along. That one is missing about 35 coins. I like the Lincolns because I don't have to pay a silver premium and many are still available.

I've bought from NLP too. Always good coins for a good price. Congrats on nearing the end from a fellow Marylander. Now comes the more expensive part..."The Keys". Good Luck, and work on the photography, cause...

Quote: Do you think any of the above are available in "good"? I can almost guarantee it, but you may have to look harder for some of them. Quote: Most of the 31's cents are fine or better it seems Don't I know it. I looked forever for my 1931-S because they all seem to be AU or better! I wanted a chocolate brown F-VF to match the rest of my wheat cents. I "settled" for what I call XF brown, while the dealer called it AU brown; I paid a price between them because I really wanted it and had waited a long time to find an even brown one.

Quote: That's what I've been buying and I'd take a pic of the folder but my skills in that regard are lacking. Also, congradulations. However, if in fact your saying your putting your coins in a FOLDER, not an ALBUM, I suggest you look into purchasing an Album eventually. They are more expensive but really well worth the cost. Folders are not really the best place for coins. They have the problems of way to many finger touches, breathing on the coins, moisture and stuff easily getting to the coins. And remember as you eventually acquire those key dated coins and have to puch them into a slot with a finger, not to good for those coins. Good luck on finding the rest to complete.
