I have an issue, well kind of an issue. If you have someone that is willing to sell you ASE's at a spot of $33.50, how many would you buy? I have a customer that comes in my C-store that just cracked a monster box of 2007 ASE. He wants to get rid of all 50 rolls and will do so at $33 each if I buy the whole thing or spot if I buy a few tubes. I could buy the whole thing if I pinched from a few different spots I'm just unsure of how much gamble I have in me. It just feels like a great deal at $33 a piece, an easy flip.

So the question is what would you do if you were in my position?

ASE's at under spot?

I doubt anyone here is going to say don't buy....
even if you think silver is going down, simply call up one of the big dealers and lock in a price tomorrow to sell for around a $2-$3 profit per coin

Me? I'd keep them all for at least awhile....

go for it!

If I had the means, I'd jump on that deal in a heartbeat.

Buy 'em all!

It is a risk as any investment is, but I think it's a low risk. ASE usually have at least a $4/coin premium over spot, so even if silver drops another $4 dollars you can still break even, or just hold onto them for a while. THe issue would be cash flow. If you can spare that much, then go for it, but if it will put undue pressure on your finances, or you won't be able to hold onto them for a while if the price does drop, then I would pass.

I would buy. APMEX has a current buy price of - $35.64 for a random year ASE. At the discounted buy price, you have a small cushion to work with in terms of the volatility of spot these days.

DITTO! I would find that so tempting, mostly I'd be afraid I'd end up kicking my butt later if I passed it up. My problem would be coming up with the scratch...

I called my father with the question posted here, his words "are you *** Edited by Staff | The bad word filter is in place for a reason. Bypassing the filter and making the intended word obvious anyway is completely unacceptable. *** stupid buy them all" Made the call and we are picking up the box tomorrow. I am keeping 10 rolls for myself my father is buying the rest for an investment. This is a great outcome for me because I will be able to buy them back from him at cost. I will be looking to sell a few rolls before my birthday trip to Vegas in October or whenever silver hits $50 again whichever comes first.

Thanks guys

Buy them all and then trade some of them to me for your MS69/70 collection! Hint, hint.

<<Edited by moderator: hint, hint indeed. Please remember there are rules to buy, sell, or trade here - while trading would be fine, the OP is not yet ready to sell.>>

We may. The OP mentioned that he was in the business of selling coins. Given that, then his business is turning over his inventory as quickly as possible and not hoarding silver or playing the silver market. This is a moot point, however, since he and his father are buying the lot for themselves. As a personal purchase, sure, buy 'em all!

I thought that the MBs contained 500 coins. These come as 25 tubes of 20 coins each, right?

I would not buy and hold right now, specially so much of it. I say flip most of it quick. And if you like you can keep some of it for long term. In fact, if you can sell at the right price, you could even make 1-2 rolls in there free for you to keep. 2 free rolls of ASEs! How does that sound?
