One should have come with the camera. It's micro-USB at one end, normal-sized at the other.

I use the remote shutter when I am out in the field and not around a computer so for 4 bucks it was worth it to me. I also can take pictures anywhere in the house and doesn't have to be near the computer without shaking the camera and without using the timer. I also like you can aim the camera outside and just hold the button down for continuous shooting
