I can see it now. A 2012 silver Commemorative for the War of 1812. I'll bet the US mint will jump on it. Do you think they would show the White House burning or the Great Lakes.

Quote: Biggfredd, the "northern states" Are you trying to start another War of 1812 Do you mean the War Between The States, aka the Civil War? You've got a great idea tho, let's celebrate the bisontenial of 1812. Redesign the nickel and ounce age. The grand finagle can be when the world comes to an end in december.

I would actually like to buy a War of 1812 commemorative. If they wanted to be fair to both sides, it should depict the Treaty of Ghent (which would actually be 1814-2014). However, I would prefer a Battle of New Orleans commemorative in (1815-2015). Not just because it was the greatest victory of the war, but because it happened two weeks after the treaty was signed. News did not travel so fast back then.

Quote: Watch it..or we'll burn the White House down again.. Forget the white House, can you burn the Capital? Quote: I can see it now. A 2012 silver Commemorative for the War of 1812. It's already been approved. It's the Star Spangled Banner Commemorative It's to commemorate the war of 1812 and specifically the Battle of Baltimore where Francis Scot Key wrote the Star Spangled Banner. Of course the Battle of Baltimore was in 1814 so we are commemorating the Bicentennial of the Star Spangled Banner on its 198th anniversary.

Great Information. Yes Biggfredd the War of 1812. I thought you were making a pun with "Canada postal strike over" and then "you may resume shipment of items to the, "northern states."
