I recently came into a partial collection of commemorative medallions issued by the Osborne Coinage Company. They come in a couple foil stamped albums Noted Great Moments in American History. Apparently they were issued as part of a set that came out every month.

Each month a nice printed card described and event. For example Issue #41 for November 15, 1976 was for Cambridge Massachusetts and recognizes the establishment of Harvard College, established November 15, 1637. There's also a stamped window envelope that was mailed to the recipient and postmarked Nov 15, 1976. In the window of the envelope is a 1 troy oz. Sterling silver medallion that commemorates the event.

I have all the months from #41 in Nov, 1976 through #73 dated July, 1979. I'm trying to find some reference that might help me establish the value of the partial collection.

So far all I can figure is the bullion value of the silver in the medallions.

Thanks for your insight.

I moved your post to the identification forum. Since these are not official US Mint commemorative issues, they may not be identifiable to those that frequent that forum. Hopefully someone will be able to provide the information you seek!

Most medals/tokens/whatever not minted by the US Mint or the mint of another official government tend to be mass-produced schlock that has almost not value besides precious metal content. Many of these types of companies have come and gone over the years and some are quite obscure, I have never even heard of the Osborne Coinage Company.
