I just picked up a brick of cents.

In the box all of the rolls have been obviously circulated except for one, this one roll shows a 2011D on one end and the revers of a shield cent on the other end.

How else could I determine this to be a new roll without opening it?

do not think there is a way with out opening it.

So I did open it and it wasn't a new roll....BUT, I didn't find 6 wheaties in just that one roll! nothing special, early 50s...but still.
