Straight damage and nothing else. Looks like someone took a grinder to it. Sad to say but it's only worth melt value.
Edit: It looks odd anyways. It's possible it could be a fake but not sure.

yes that coin is very very damaged. I have no idea what would damage a coin like this unless it was totally intentional. If its fake you may not want to add it to ebay because it is illegal to sell counterfeit coins that are not marked as a copy on the coin. I can not say for sure if this is counterfeit but the porous look of the Obverse really makes me wonder about this one not to mention some of the letters look wrong on the Reverse

IMO it looks like someone had a dirty/dull coin and tested out cleaning methods on the reverse. Looks like they tried a scrubbing pad and a little silver polish. The obverse almost looks like they used a fine grain sand blaster.

That sandblast effect (both sides) makes me think it is a cast coin, ie fake. I would also advise listing it on ebay and risking losing your account, unless you sell it as a fake for research.

that metal on the Eagle looks like it is covering the design not something that rubbed or cut the design off of the coin, that and a few other things lead me to believe this is not a legit coin and probably isn't even silver

OK, I see what you mean, between stars 4 and 5. Looks like lead plugging a hole.

I am talking about this part right here, looks like this is over the design or a part that didn't get transferred correctly

Looks like it was soldered to something and removed by a rank amateur.

IMO thinking solder belt buckle! the file grind marks to help the coin not fall off ! Why not back then it was worth a buck...

I think the grind marks (if this was attached to something) was done after the coin was removed to maybe try and get the solder off the coin. They just started whacking at it with a chisel or something by the looks of it and once they saw it was removing the design they tried to scratch the design back into the coin. Once they saw that wasn't happening they left the other side alone that I have circled. This is just a go with what SD said and if it was attached to something this looks like what may have happened. Something still doesn't look right to me about the coin but if SD doesn't say a 1921 is fake chances are pretty good its not
