I don't like to bid more than melt value on ebay with such lousy photos. If it is worth selling for good money, it is worth shooting decent photos. The seller is counting on a buyers "trust" in a questionable grading serviced to build confidence while offering poor photos. I've seen that trick a thousand times. I would rather buy a raw coin with good photos than a basement slabber with poor photos.

There is absolutely NOTHING that can be told with those pics aside from the fact that its a Morgan and it is better than XF condition. Too much glare and not enough detail to say anything else at all. Get some decent pics and then maybe something can be said with any kind of certainty.

Quote: It could conceivably be a Mint State coin, though - the images in this thread don't preclude the possibility. If so, it's not a huge loss.
MS maybe, but not 66 with all those bagmarks.

World Coin Grading is just as bad as SGS, I would never suggest anyone just starting out to ever buy any coins in these slabs until they learn to grade for themselves and then only bid what the coin is worth raw instead of what the slab says

AU50 on the 1900, maybe down to EF45 as it looks like there might possibly be wear on the hair above the date. But the cotton boles dont look bad. Cant tell if the eagle breast is just weak or worn. On the 81 I would go MS63. Those yellow dots at about 4 oclock on the obverse keep it at that. The bag marks arent TOO awful. Its a nice coin, but NOT what it was graded at. And I have NO idea on the VAM part of it.

One tip is to only buy from reputable grading service companies. Don't feel bad I bought a poorly graded Washington quarter when I first started collecting. Live and learn.

I'd call the 1900 a cleaned (brushed) AU. The SGS coin is worth more than you paid for it; that's not a loss.
