That coin has nice features. In my opinion, the toning is a little distracting in this case, but it's so strong underneath the toning, that it may make this coin endearing :)
Nice pickup!

Not sure about that MS-66 grade though. For sure no full bands on the reverse. Nice looking coin but I'm not a big fan of toning.

The details of the coin are fantastic, but as the others have said, the toning is more distracting then beneficial IMO.

There's no way this isn't MS-66 IMO; surfaces are too clean. I personally like the toning.

And in the end that's what matters is that you like it. I'm a huge fan of toning, but this type is not my style. I'm not a fan of the brown/black blotchyness even when it's on top of such nice lavenders such as here.

I just found a couple of '64 Roosevelts with that same blotchy toning yesterday. They're in great shape, but the spots are distracting. Glad to know it doesn't affect the value.

If that's MS66 , then I've got a dozen of them....
Toning is distracting but it could look better IRL, I guess it just matters what you're looking for.
I always thought for a ms62 or higher you needed full bands.

Don't take what I say to heart hear because I don't collect Dimes at all...
I doubt full bands have anything to do with grading at all. Strike strength tends not to effect the grade as much as luster does. I know nickels for example, in some years don't get sharp strikes. Those years still have MS66 and MS67's. Plus FSB are probably equivalent to full step Jefferson's. The FS designation in Jefferson's pretty much means it's a "Full Strike" coin.
That being said - I do prefer to collect my Buffaloes based on strike rather than overall coin grade.
A few months ago I posted a thread on this exact type of toning. I don't understand at all how these things get the extremely high grades. What I was told is that you have to see these coins in hand because the superb details of the coins are usually hidden under the toning.

Quote: I like the toning a lot And that should be all that matters. It's a nice coin! I have some corroded coins that I like believe it or not. Others would say

I like the coin. I don't think it would make full bands. But I like the toning. Definitely a keeper

Definitely not FSB....I do agree on the grade though.
It does have some intresting eye appeal.
