Valuable data there. I don't mess much with indirect light as the author favors, but I've used it with success:


Those were lit by bouncing all kinds of light off the walls of my bathroom, nothing pointing directly at the coin. The "hot spot" at 11:00 on the obverse was caused by a rather overwhelming 120w floodlight I was using in an attempt to capture luster in addition to the full coverage of the indirect lighting. Indirect lighting is great at lightfilling all the nooks and crannies, but not so hot with luster.
